Once Upon A Time in Nepal
Nepal now has become a republic, after a long 250-year history as a Hindu-based kingdom. Indeed, it was the last Hindu kingdom in the world that even called as “The Roof of the Word”.
With its unique position and mysticism around it, just like India or Thailand, I am really interested in Nepal (_and visiting Kathmandu sometime later_).
It doesn’t matter whether it’s a republic or a kingdom, it’s still “The Roof of The World”.
Maoist rebels finally take their hands into the power of the country, ended their armed rebellion since 1970. The spirit to free the country from its poor and turn it to a new fresh republic, has been successfully transformed. The King,—who was believed as a God “representative” in the world, is now just an ordinary people, made of flesh and blood, and of course, he can make mistake.
Tan Malaka, one of Indonesia’s first founding fathers and communist, once say in his book, Madilog (_Materialism, Dialects and Logics_), that all kings and kingdom based government once will be vanished. It’s because, they live in the old spirit, and yet in this modern world, where people live with their logics and borderless information, that spirit will be vanished and changed into the world of freedom, where all mankind have the same opportunity, and the same class among aothers.
The class, I would call, is the class of the people. No other ruling class, upper or down under.
They’re all the same.

Firstly, Reading it, i imagine that will read a martial art, but when finished reading, it tell about the beauty of Nepal especially kathmandu. :).
Was Tan Malaka a communist ? I think he was a socialist.
Mas Agus, Tan Malaka is a communist, regardless what socialism tag-a-like labelled to him. But his role on Comintern (Communist International, a super body of communist activist around the world at that time). Sjahrir, to be mentioned, is a pure socialist.— Agus SA Jun 4, 09:49 AM #
